Lustre Christian High School holds to high educational standards.  Most of the courses offered are at the college prep level, although there are no AP courses offered.  Students have a minimum of 15 minutes per class of homework per night.  For our international students, that time rises exponentially depending on their understanding of English.  So why does LCHS have such a demanding schedule?

As Mr. Young challenged the students on day 1, we believe in excellence in all things.  At LCHS we are interested not only in academics but the overall growth of each student.  Challenging courses require personal responsibility, organization, time management, and planning ahead.

LCHS has advantages that other schools cannot boast:

  • small classroom sizes
  • low teacher-student ratio
  • teachers living on campus are accessible for after school help
  • teachers and staff who first and foremost care about each student

For dorm students, the dorm staff are available to help students with school work.  This is vital especially in the beginning of the school year as students settle into the routine and schedule of classes.  There is a mandatory study hall from 8:00-10:00pm each week night to help students manage their time wisely.  One advantage to living in the dorm is access to other classmates for homework help and study groups.
