Ric Cattell

Mr. Cattell graduated from Lake Erie College with a degree in Early Childhood Education. He taught at a charter school for students with special needs for four years before moving to Wuhan, China, with Mrs. Cattell. While in Wuhan, Mr. Cattell taught grades four and five in an ELL classroom. In 2018, the Cattells moved to Ras Al Khaimah, the United Arab Emirates, where Mr. Cattell taught 2nd grade before switching to special education for grades 1-12 for two years. While in the UAE, Mr. Cattell received his Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education. Mr. Cattell enjoys traveling, working out, reading, and cooking, and is an avid gamer (when he has the time). At the time of this writing, he has nine children and seven grandchildren. The Cattells also have a new addition to the family, a puppy named Ladybug.

Dan Marasco

Mr. Marasco is a graduate of Penn State University with five years music teaching experience in Pennsylvania before moving to Montana and adding math credentials to his teaching license. For nine years, he has been in Lustre teaching math, Bible, leading the student worship team, and assisting the music program in small ways. He and his wife Melissa have five children, are avid gardeners, have grown to love living in the open prairies of Montana, and love the opportunities to interact with the various students who come through Lustre.

I graduated from Carroll College in 2003 with the Degree of Bachelor of Arts: Chemistry Major. My husband Mike and I have been married for 16 years and have three children. We have enjoyed being a part of the Lustre community for the past 7 years.

Mrs. Reddig is a local artist who is sharing her talents with the students. She loves all kinds of art, and is very skilled at drawing, painting and refurbishing. Along with teaching, she farms and ranches with her husband and three kids.

Debby Cattell

Mrs. Deborah Cattell graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio. She taught Middle School English and Social Studies for five years at Heritage Middle School in Ohio. While working on her Master of Art in Special Education, she learned about a company called Leadership Development International and their need for Highly Qualified International School teachers. She answered the call and took a Sabbatical from teaching in Painesville, Ohio to teach in Wuhan, China. A few years later she moved to Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, in the Middle East to teach at The WellSpring School. She is the mother of nine children and seven grandchildren. She is delighted to be working at LCHS as the guidance counselor, also teaching English, Choir and Drama classes.

Emily Dela Cruz

with a degree, Bachelor in Secondary Education
Major in English and Minor in Library Science.
I in the Philippines and in the United Arab Emirates
as an English and Science teacher. I worked also as a Librarian
in the UAE before moving to Lustre Christian High School.
Sarel Matthyser

Mr. Matthyser worked at Vodacom, a national telecommunications company, back in South Africa. He was responsible for overseeing the technical department in Cape Town and training new staff members on the correct installation and use of equipment. Along with teaching and ensuring his team is taken care of in terms of anything tech-related, he enjoys watching rugby and spending time with his wife and two boys.
Kendall Ross

Raised in the Mennonite Farming Community of Harleysville, Pennsylvania, Mr. Ross is the youngest of 5 children born to Mennonite Parents, both of whom were raised in farming families whose ancestral journeys date back to the mid 1800s of County Armagh, Ireland, and the early 1700s of the Alsace Region of Europe, in what is now north-western Switzerland.
Mr. Ross graduated in 1992 from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. Ed. in Secondary English and Psychology.  He has also done post-graduate study at the University of Nevada at Reno, and the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. He has taught High School English, Journalism, and Theatre at Native American schools in Montana and New Mexico.  Mr. Ross has also taught these subjects internationally in Scotland and China, as well as having taught History in Azerbaijan, and continues to enjoy researching many facets of History, both domestic and international, as he has done for many years.
Mr. Ross is also a writer, a poet, and a musician of sorts; having learned the guitar and mandolin from his family, the bamboo flute from his friends in Hawai’i, and the trombone, tuba, and sousaphone while he attended public school in Souderton, PA.  He also enjoys many other activities in life, and marvels at Nature, the Firmament, and all of Creation.  Mr. Ross loves his trailer in Lustre, as well as the foxes, birds and deer which frequent his backyard; and he is very happy to have been given the opportunity to be a part of the Lustre community.
Emily Eggar

Ms. Eggar is a 2019 graduate of Lustre Christian High School who, following High School, attended York University in York, Nebraska. During her undergraduate years, Miss Eggar contributed to the York University campus in a variety of ways, serving on Student Government for three years, performing as a member of the York University Singers and tutoring other students. Math and Science have always been Miss Eggar’s preferred areas of study, during her time at York University she worked toward, and received, a degree in Biology and a degree in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics. During this time, Miss Eggar worked to establish the STEM Society on campus, while also working on York University’s first science grant project. The Eggar family is one of deep faith, a trait that Miss Eggar shares with others as often as she can.

The Swartzendruber‘s were married in 1981, and we’re soon blessed with three biological sons-Jonathan, David and Joshua. All three boys were promoted to heaven at 10, 18, and 33 years old, due to neurological disorders. They have since adopted three children, and taken other children in their Michigan home over the years. Since arriving at Lustre in August 2022, all the Dorm students have become very dear to their hearts!
