Nichola HilkemannScience & PE/Health
Mrs. Hilkemann teaches Science and PE/Health and is in her tenth year at LCHS. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Carroll College and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Black Hills State University. Mrs. Hilkemann has served as LCHS’s Academic Advisor for the past two years. She and her husband, Mike, moved to Lustre 14 years ago. They have been blessed to raise their family in a loving Christian community. Mrs. Hilkemann’s favorite part about teaching at LCHS is getting to know the students and having the opportunity to encourage them in their walk with Jesus and help them grow academically.
Favorite Bible Verse: Ephesians 2: 10 “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Ms. Bell lives in Lustre with her dog Max. He is a husky/red heeler mix and loves pets, treats and walks. She loves to read, be outdoors and climbing around canyons (which was one of her favorite hobbies while she was at college in Arizona). Ms. Bell is very excited for this year.

Ms. Balagulan is a new Math teacher at LCHS, and she teaches Mathematics to 9th through 12th graders. She came from the Philippines, and she has been teaching for almost seven years—five years in her home country and nearly two years here in the United States. She is an adventurous person, which is why she’s excited to try hiking and skiing in the mountains of Montana. She loves to sing and to have long, meaningful conversations with her friends and family. Aside from appreciating the tranquility of the environment here, she also enjoys serving the community because of the kindness of the people around me—especially her students, who are all sweet and respectful. Her life Bible verses are Matthew 6:33 and Psalm 27:13.

He is currently completing his Master of Arts in Teaching Music at Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University and is in the thesis-writing stage of the program.

At LCHS, Mr. Ayuno teaches music, including choir and band. He enjoys helping students develop their musical and creative talents, confidence, and teamwork skills. He is grateful for the opportunity to serve the LCHS community and share his passion for music with students.
