“Obstacles don’t have to stop you.
If you run into a wall,
don’t turn around and give up.
Figure out how to climb it,
go through it,
or work around it.”
-Michael Jordan
The senior year is a year of “lasts” and milestones. In these last steps of their high school career, we like to take moments to honor these students who have put forth their energy to strive, challenge themselves, work hard, play hard, and lead others to greatness.
Of the three senior class students in the dorm, two of them play basketball: Jacques and Joyce. Jacques is a charismatic leader. Joyce is a steadfast. Both these seniors came to LCHS with little knowledge of basketball. Both have grown in exceptional ways in their game and teamwork. We are proud of them!
Senior Presentation
Between the girls varsity and boys varsity games, the basketball seniors were presented and honored for their contributions to the game. Each senior walked onto the court accompanied by his/her family. In the case of Dorm Students, Jacques and Joyce were accompanied by the community family that has connected with them over the years; their family away from home. These community families are amazing: welcoming the kids into their homes with open arms and hearts. While the seniors walked in, the announcer read the student’s best memories and other candid personal information.
